Capt. Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure sealer:

Tiny little hairline cracks in fiberglass boats, fancy woodwork, china cups, in and around bolted down fittings, etc. can be a real problem. These cracks are much too small for fixing with glues or things like silicon sealers. Even things like paint and epoxy paints will just bridge over these hairline cracks. When the trapped air and/or moisture in the cracks expands the crack will migrate up through the paint or epoxy paint - ruining that perfect restoration job.

About 10 years ago I discovered Capt. Tolley's Creaping Crack Cure. I used in on the hairline cracks in the fiberglass deck of my 30 year old sailboat. It was amazing. The product looks like watered-down Elmer's Glue. Put a tiny drop near a hairline crack and capillary action immediately sucks the product into the crack, sealing the crack from the INSIDE, not by simply covering it over. It really works! The cracks don't re-appear through your paint or epoxy topcoat. It is a copolymer that is thinner than water so it fills the cracks via capillary action that even water cannot penetrate.

I also found that a tiny drop of it around a nut/bolt combination locks the nut into place keeping it from vibrating off the my lawn mower, trailer hitch, etc.

I added this product to our catalog because I liked the product personally and thought it would bring a few more folks to our website. Obviously with its low price it's not a big money maker for us, especially since we sell it for a bit less than probably everyone else. I've been shocked at how much we sell! Usually a few bottles of each just about everyday. I never would have thought it would be such a consistant and good seller, I just don't know.

Note: the 2 oz bottle has a better nozzle than the larger 8 oz bottle, so many people use the 8 oz as a refill for the 2 oz bottle.

"I've used Capt Tolley's( mostly on glass boats) for really aggravating window leaks. Sometimes even after removing the aluminum frame, glass, cleaning it all up and rebedding with silicone caulk, a leak persists. A shrimp boat capt told me about Tolleys and damn, it does work. Just how, I don't know, but the "repairs" have stayed water tight for many years." FOUND ON THE WOODENBOAT BOATING FORUM 12/04

Water-Activated Pipe-Wrap: KEEP ONE OR TWO KITS ON BOARD/AT HOME TO FIX THOSE PLUMBING LEAKS AND/OR REINFORCE THOSE OLD RUBBER HOSES -- A CHEAP QUICK FIX!

Lots of companies sell water activated, polyurethane resin/fiberglass cloth pipe wrap kits. They have become mainstay repair products in industrial setting, among homeowners, and aboard pleasure and commercial craft. These fiberglass tape kits are used to repair plumbing pipes, PVC pipes, rubber and plastic tubing, fiberglass and other metallic piping. Can be applied even underwater! Handles temperatures from steam systems to engine mufflers. Resists fuels and hydraulic fluids. Handles pressures up to 600 psi (for higher pressures use our epoxies and fiberglass cloth). Our kits include a fast setting epoxy putty to plug the hole or leak prior to wrapping, as well as gloves to protect your hands. Keep a kit or two around for those sudden emergencies or to simply reinforce or strengthen all sorts of piping and tubing. We're much cheaper than all or most of our competitors

Your other option is to use the fiberglass tape above and usually our WET DRY 700 epoxy putty to create an epoxy pipe wrap. This is a stronger system than the water activated wraps and is often used for large pipe repair/wrap projects in industrial plants. See our page -
www.epoxyproducts.com/pipewrap.html for more details.

REMARKS - COMMENTS

Our FC 2100 epoxy paint can also be used for crack repairs above or below the waterline. One underwater repair trick is to soak sponge/foam rubber with this epoxy and then jam (caulk) underwater seams, cracks, holes, etc. with the epoxy soaked foam. It will swell to form a tight seal and become rock hard. FC 2100 can be found in our epoxy paint section of our catalog.
