CORRO COAT FC 2100 --- OUR BEST SELLING PRODUCT IN THIS CATALOG SECTION!
This product has its own web page - CLICK HERE
This product contains superior Cycloaliphatic curing agents - CLICK HERE for more information.
FC 2100 forms an extremely hard, abrasion and wear resistant coating.
Contains Kevlar ™ pulp and feldspar ceramic for enhanced abrasion resistance.
Extreme high epoxy performance at an affordable price. A non-hazmat, 100%
solids epoxy. Kevlar (tm) microfiber reinforced for chip resistance, loaded with feldspar/ceramic for extreme toughness
and mechanical properties. This water tolerant epoxy will bond to wet or damp surfaces and can even be applied
underwater. Odorless, so ideal for application in confined spaces. Paint pad or brush on at 15 mils without sagging
(thinner if roller applied). Ideal for barrier coats. Coverage about 100 square feet
per gallon with brush - about 140 square feet per gallon with roller (almost all solvent free epoxy paints have
this sort of roller application coverage). Forms a very hard surface for corrosion protection. Outstanding wear/abrasion
resistance, with application under adverse conditions.
Common industrial applications include; pits, sumps, cement or metal tanks, waste water, etc.
NOTE: ALL THESE SOLVENT FREE EPOXY PAINTS ARE THICKER THAN 'REGULAR' PAINTS, ESPECIALLY AT TEMPS UNDER 70 DEGREES
- FIX IS A SMALL (WEE) BIT OF SOLVENT. FC2100 IS SLIGHTLY THICKER THAN WATERGARD 300, MOSTLY AT TEMPS UNDER 70
DEGREES F.
Note: because these 100% solids (solvent free), high end epoxy paints are all rather thick (especially in cool weather), we've had users report that they transfer the epoxy to the surface they're coating with a wide putty knife or drywall mud float and initially spread it out that way. They return with the roller or brush for final 'smoothing.' They liked this method much better than struggling with a roller only with the thick, sticky epoxy.
SOLVENTS: (MEK, ACETONE, XYLENE ETC. EPOXY VISCOSITY (AND POTLIFE) IS VERY TEMPERATURE DEPENDENT - IDEAL IS PROBABLY
75 DEGREES F).
This product comes in several 'flavors'
FC 2100 F - our standard version (formerly FC 2100 Flex) - 1:1 mix ratio, has a bit of flex for improved impact resistance. NON HAZMAT to ship (can be shipped by air and can be shipped overseas)
FC 2100 A - the original version (formerly FC 2100) - 2:1 mix ratio, slightly more rigid than the FC 2100 F which
maximizes wear resistance.
The difference between 2100 A and 2100 F - Our original 2100 epoxy experienced some cracking when applied to a military railroad bridge. We assumed this was due to the sudden shock and 'impact' of the train 'hitting' the bridge. Our fix was to add more give to the product, resulting in 2100 F. The idea was that the new 2100 F would replace the original 2100 (A), but that didn't happen. Too many folks had become 2100 A 'regulars' and didn't want to 'upgrade', so we now offer both versions. The part A on both is the same, only the curing agent is slightly different. They are very interchangable. If I only needed three gallons of epoxy I would purchase two of the 1.5 gal 2100 A kits, rather than have to purchase two 2 gallon kits of the 2100 F. The more flexible version, 2100 F, is in theory better for surfaces that might bend or flex (some boat hulls, etc.) and is used as a stand alone coating, or on surfaces that must absorb shock or impact. The older 2100 A version would be better when used with fiberglass cloth, (boat repair, boat building etc.) where very hard and brittle is a good thing. Also hard and brittle surfaces handle wear and abrasion better than softer more flexible surfaces. Still the differences aren't that great so either product will work in any situation. FC 2100 A is non hazmat and can be shipped by air worldwide. FC 2100F cannot.
FC 2100 FAST - a fast version (actually used for application cold temperatures - say 40 - 55 F)
Now you can use FC 2100 FAST in air or water temperatures as low as 38 degrees F. Use the fast version in temps. of 35 to 65 degrees F, the 2100 F and 2100 A in temps over 60 degrees. This FAST version (like the high temp version) requires hazmat or ORM-D shipping (must be shipped via ground only - no extra shipping charges).
FC 2100 HT - a high service temp version 4:1 mix ratio - this one is hazmat to ship
High temperature version for use at temperatures 300 - 400 degrees F. now available too! (see our Epoxy temperature resistance site ) Will handle 300 plus degrees F dry temperatures after 150 degree post cure.
FC 2100 Novolac - a novolac version which ofers improved chemical
resistance. 2:1 mix ratio. Limited availability.
This product help save a sinking yacht in Papua New Guinea - Click Here to learn more.
Advantages: same longish potlife as the Watergard 300 above; outstanding
abrasion resistance, cycloaliphatic curing system, cold weather version available (ie. the FAST version) for use
when temperatures are under 65 degrees; 1.5 gallon packaging
Note: one underwater repair trick is to soak sponge/foam rubber
with this epoxy and then jam (caulk) underwater seams, cracks, holes, etc. with the epoxy soaked foam. It will
swell to form a tight seal and become rock hard.

Coal Tar Epoxy:
A modern solvent-free version of the old coal tar epoxies used on barges and buried pipelines. Great for exterior metal tanks, etc. Smells like asphalt and the uncured epoxy leaves tar like stains on things. Color is black. Inexpensive and with more 'flex' and 'elongation' (about 28% elongation and about 25% flex) than other modern epoxies. Paints on at about 160 square feet per gallon. 1:1 mix by volume. All in all, a nice black 'work' paint.
Being a 'thin' epoxy (with good coverage) our Coal Tar works
best on rough surfaces such as cement, corroded/pitted metal, wood etc. On very smooth surfaces it tends to run
and drip.
Our coal tar epoxy was used below the waterline and on many metal
fittings on the 24 meter long, 3 masted pre-1840 Barkentine being build by App Applegate - Click Here for pictures, info,
etc.

CM 15 HOT WEATHER EPOXY ECONOMICAL EPOXY PAINT AND THICK FILM EPOXY MASTIC
USE AS A 'GENERAL PURPOSE' EPOXY PAINT AND/OR AS AN ADHESION ENHANCING MASTIC
ON OLDER SURFACES UNDER SOLVENT FREE PREMIUM EPOXIES AND/OR URETHANES.
Read more about this product - CLICK HERE
CM 15 is a high solids (82%), economical, two-part epoxy designed as a general purpose epoxy mastic coating. Usually
topcoated with a non epoxy paint. It contains proprietary resins, wetting agents and penetrants for surperior bonding.
Use as an interior topcoat (will yellow outdoors in direct UV).. It's long potlife (3 hours at 75 degrees) and
low viscosity make it suitable for spray application in the hottest of climates. Designed with a lot of internal
flex, CM 15 can handle thermal expansion and contraction of large surfaces without failing. With a coverage rate
of about 150-200 square feet per gallon, this is our most affordable epoxy coating. Often used as part of a three
coat commercial system (click here for more information), but can be used alone. Colors: ivory, black
Because if its long potlife and solvents, this epoxy applies more like "regular" paint than do the other epoxies. Note that at 60 degrees temp, painted surfaces are still tacky after 20-24 hours, so recommend for use above 70 degrees and hotter (when other epoxies will set-up too quickly).
Can also be used as a warm weather (because it has a long potlife)
cement floor coating. See
our b_floor.html catalog page.

Crack Coat™ :SEAM SEALER AND BEDDING EPOXY
Designed as a crack or seam sealer/filler for basements and marine applications this flexible
epoxy also makes an excellent waterproof, permanent bedding compound. The dark gray epoxy contains high density
fillers that enter and block crack and void spaces. Formulated for use in cool (55 degrees or above), damp environments.
Its unique viscosity is ideal for crack filling - thick to the point of barely brushable, yet just thick enough
to possibly use with a putty knife - so you can work it into cracks easily and it will not flow or sag away. Add
some of our EZ Thick thickener to turn it into a real putty if so desired. The non-brittle, flexible formulation
is designed to handle movement, vibration, or expansion. Bonds to wet or water filled spaces. Packaged in user
friendly 3 quart (3/4 gallon) units with an easy 2:1 mix ratio.
This product is unique enough that it has its own page - CLICK HERE.

Cold Coat™: COLD WEATHER EPOXY PAINT
This product contains superior Cycloaliphatic curing agents
(a blend - not 100%) - CLICK
HERE for more information.
Cold Coat is a specially formulated, solvent free, cycloaphatic blend, cold weather
epoxy for use in temperatures in the 40s and 50s (even works in the 30s). Note that all epoxies, especially the
solvent free ones, get thicker at low temps. This one is thinner than most at low temps but still sort of sticky
and honey-like when cold (even in hot weather epoxies are much diferent/thicker from enamels, etc). Use a short
nap epoxy roller or stiff brush (maybe even some solvent thinning). Use as a marine barrier coat or for outside
(or inside) projects. Color is dark green (which will mask UV yellowing and help absorb solar heat to aid in curing).
Potlife (6 oz sample turning 'hard') is about 1 hour at 50-55 degrees F and about 30 minutes at 70 degrees. Bigger
batches will have a shorter potlife. The epoxy is semi thick (but rollable) - Thin with solvent 10-20% (acetone
or xylene or MEK for brush grade viscosity).
Use with our thickeners to make a cold weather putty - or use our Quick Fix 2100 epoxy paste.
2/7/07 COLD COAT - an epoxy paint formulated for cold weather
application. We have about 12 kits in stock. This dark green epoxy works well, but is too thick for easy application
at cold temperatures without the addition of some solvent. The next batch will be thinner but in the meanwhile
we are selling the existing stock at a discount. Instead of the regular price of $110 for a 1.5 gal unit, the clearance
price is $89 -- --- you will need to order
