We've been selling epoxy - marine epoxy (boat building - wood / fiberglass repair) industrial coatings epoxy - garage floor epoxy - epoxy paint - underwater epoxies - thick epoxy putties - tabletop epoxies and supplies since the early 1990's
Epoxy paints are very different from enamels, polys, and latex paints. Using them is more like painting with honey or molasses. They are THICK and they typically set slowly allowing time for drips and sags. Like all epoxies, they are not color stable and will yellow with time and UV. They are often top coated with enamels etc. They generally cannot be applied with normal spray equipment. The epoxy paint does the work, the top coating paint provides the look. If you are new to epoxy paints we suggest you order a small unit size to test and evaluate for your application. They are commonly used in tanks, pits, sumps, etc.
This is the epoxy paint section (section c) of our industrial catalog.
This section is different
from the section (Section B) for "floor epoxies and related products".
Garage floor / cement floor areas are flat. For epoxy coating of cement, pits
and sumps etc. this is the section you want. However, floor epoxies can be used
on non-floor surfaces. They are generally more self leveling than other epoxy
paints and are more likely to sag and drip on non-horizontal surfaces. The
water-based Water Bond (tm) is an exception. It goes on thin and dries/cures
even thinner (probably thinner than a coat of hardware store enamel). Being so
thin, it tends not to drip or sag. It also yellows much less than 'regular'
epoxies. So be sure to visit our Floor Epoxy section
as well, to expand your number of options.

PRODUCT PRO AND CON REVIEW |
| PRO | Non-hazmat to ship - slow yellowing - Kevlar TM) reinforced - can be applied underwater |
| CON | Traditional rigid epoxy |
This product has its own web page
Extreme high epoxy performance at an affordable price. A non-hazmat, 100%
solids epoxy. Kevlar (tm) microfiber reinforced for chip resistance, loaded with feldspar/ceramic for extreme toughness
and mechanical properties. This water tolerant epoxy will bond to wet or damp surfaces and can even be applied
underwater. Odorless, so ideal for application in confined spaces. Paint pad or brush on at 15 mils without sagging
(thinner if roller applied). Ideal for barrier coats. Coverage about 100 square feet
per gallon with brush - about 140 square feet per gallon with roller (almost all solvent free epoxy paints have
this sort of roller application coverage). Forms a very hard surface for corrosion protection. Outstanding wear/abrasion
resistance, with application under adverse conditions.
Can be applied underwater - with some site specific exceptions - See User notes and Charge pages. Because of these issues which are completely outside of our control, user accepts full responsibility for all risks of underwater application of these epoxies.
Common industrial applications include; pits, sumps, cement or metal tanks, waste water, etc.

This product comes in several 'flavors'
FC 2100 A - the original version (formerly FC 2100) - 2:1 mix ratio,
FC 2100 FAST - a fast version (actually used for application cold temperatures - say 40 - 55 F)
Now you can use FC 2100 FAST in air or water temperatures as low as 38 degrees F. Use the fast version in temps. of 35 to 65 degrees F, the 2100 F and 2100 A in temps over 60 degrees. This FAST version (like the high temp version) requires hazmat or ORM-D shipping (must be shipped via ground only - no extra shipping charges).
FC 2100 HT - a high service temp version 4:1 mix ratio - this one is hazmat to ship
High temperature version for use at temperatures 300 - 400 degrees F. now available too! (see our Epoxy temperature resistance site ) Will handle 300 plus degrees F dry temperatures after 150 degree post cure. - limited amounts available due to change in product formulation

NOTE: ALL THESE SOLVENT FREE EPOXY PAINTS ARE THICKER
THAN 'REGULAR' PAINTS, ESPECIALLY AT TEMPS UNDER 70 DEGREES - FIX IS A SMALL (WEE) BIT OF SOLVENT. FC2100 IS SLIGHTLY
THICKER THAN WATER GARD 300, MOSTLY AT TEMPS UNDER 70 DEGREES F. We've had users report that they transfer the epoxy
to the surface they're coating with a wide putty knife or drywall mud float and initially spread it out that way.
They return with the roller or brush for final 'smoothing.' They liked this method much better than struggling
with a roller only with the thick, sticky epoxy.
SOLVENTS: (MEK, ACETONE, XYLENE ETC. EPOXY VISCOSITY (AND POT LIFE) IS VERY TEMPERATURE DEPENDENT - IDEAL IS PROBABLY
75 DEGREES F).
Note: one underwater repair trick is to soak
sponge/foam rubber with this epoxy and then jam (caulk) underwater seams, cracks, holes, etc. with the epoxy soaked
foam. It will swell to form a tight seal and become rock hard.
This product contains superior Cycloaliphatic curing agents - CLICK HERE for more information.
FC 2100 forms an extremely hard, abrasion and wear resistant coating.

Coal Tar Epoxy:
| COAL TAR EPOXY |
PRODUCT PRO AND CON REVIEW |
| PRO | solvent free, high end version of traditional coat tar epoxies |
| CON | like all coat tar epoxies, can be difficult to topcoat or recoat |
A modern solvent-free version of the old, nasty, coal tar epoxies used on barges and buried pipelines. Great for exterior metal tanks, etc. Smells like asphalt and the uncured epoxy leaves tar like stains on things. Color is black. Inexpensive and with more 'flex' and 'elongation' (about 28% elongation and about 25% flex) than other modern epoxies. Paints on at about 160 square feet per gallon. 1:1 mix by volume. All in all, a nice black 'work' paint.
Being a 'thin' epoxy (with good coverage) our Coal Tar works
best on rough surfaces such as cement, corroded/pitted metal, wood etc. On very smooth surfaces it tends to run
and drip.
Our coal tar epoxy was used below the waterline and on many metal
fittings on the 24 meter long, 3 masted pre-1840 Barkentine being build by App Applegate - Click Here for pictures, info,
etc.

| CM 15™ |
PRODUCT PRO AND CON REVIEW |
| PRO | Lots of flex (for surfaces that expand/contract, flex or move), long pot life |
| CON | Best if applied in temps over 60 degrees |
EXCELLENT WARM WEATHER EPOXY - (long pot life - warm weather ) QUALITY
EPOXY MASTIC PAINT - with lots of extra flex - compared to the more brittle, traditional epoxy paints.
CM 15 is a high solids (82%), two-part epoxy designed with a long pot life, slow cure, and outstanding flex. It
contains proprietary resins, wetting agents and penetrants for superior bonding. It's long pot life (up to 2-3
hours at 75 degrees) and low/medium viscosity make it suitable for application in the hottest of climates. Designed
with a lot of internal flex, CM 15 can handle thermal expansion and contraction of large surfaces without failing.
With a coverage rate of between about 150-200 square feet per gallon, this is an affordable epoxy coating. Colors:
ivory, black
Because if its long pot life and solvents, this epoxy applies more like "regular" paint than do the other epoxies. Note that at 60 degrees temp, painted surfaces are still tacky after 20-24 hours, so recommend for use above 70 degrees (or in hot weather when other epoxy paints will 'set up' too fast).
Note that when sanding you may detect a slight solvent odor, even months after application. This is OK.

Crack Coat™ :SEAM SEALER, EPOXY GLUE, AND BEDDING EPOXY
PRODUCT PRO AND CON REVIEW
CRACK COAT™
PRO
The ideal epoxy glue or crack filling/covering gel
CON
available only in 3 quart units - 2 to 1 mix ratio
Designed as a crack or seam sealer/filler for basements and marine applications this flexible
epoxy also makes an excellent waterproof, permanent bedding compound as well as the ideal epoxy glue (see our glue page). The
dark gray epoxy contains high density fillers that enter and block crack and void spaces. Formulated for use in
cool (55 degrees or above), damp environments. Its unique viscosity is ideal for crack filling and gluing. Thick
to the point of barely brushable, yet just thick enough to possibly use with a putty knife - so you can work it
into cracks easily and it will not flow or sag away. Add some of our EZ Thick thickener to turn it into a real
putty if so desired. The non-brittle, flexible formulation is designed to handle movement, vibration, or expansion.
Bonds to wet or water filled spaces. Packaged in user friendly 3 quart (3/4 gallon) units with an easy 2:1 mix
ratio.
We have a professional boat repair guy who travels around the country working on
boats. He also fixes the 'repairs' of other professional boat guys (so he's darn good at what he does!). He uses
this product on wooden boat seams. (He also likes our Premium No Blush epoxy). A nice, fast setting, flexible epoxy
gel!

Novolac 555™ :
| NOVOLAC 555™ |
PRODUCT PRO AND CON REVIEW |
| PRO | Cycloaliphatic novolac epoxy (superior temp and chemical resistance). Probably the only source for less than a gallon unit of a Novolac epoxy. Pot life measured in hours. |
| CON | Novolac epoxies are expensive |
Novolac 555 is a high solids (82%) cycloaliphatic novolac epoxy. Novolac epoxies are a special class of epoxies with enhanced chemical and heat resistance (basically you get one or the other, not both). This is our 'harsh environment' epoxy. This dark gray epoxy brushes or rolls on to surfaces nicely, in part due to the 18% solvents in the product. The solvents also give a pot life measured in hours, not minutes. Excellent abrasion resistance and can be applied to cold damp surfaces. Often used over polyester resins or 'regular' epoxies for the added protection it provides but can be, and is often used, by itself. Novolacs have gained added recognition due to recent articles describing ethanol based gasoline degradation of polyester and some epoxy fuel tanks. Coverage is about 125-150 sf per gallon.
